In the liturgical season of Advent we prepare to relive the mystery of the birth of the Redeemer: event such an ancient and still mysterious new. It is ancient because its roots in the eternal plan of God, which, although historically realized about two millennia ago, has been prepared since the dawn of creation. It is at the same time, an event ever again, because it emanates from generation to generation, his inexhaustible energy of redemption for the return of Christ in glory. In light of this mystery, human history, despite the daily hardships, reveals a profound unity, and the man is called to build it in a responsible and active dialogue with the divine. I sincerely hope that the Advent, waiting time, listening and hope, is for all believers a good opportunity to revive their faith and reinforce their commitment to a consistent witness of Christian life.
